blockchords

what this does

this is a lazy tool for harmonizing a melody with block chords: notes that belong to the base chord shape use its inversion which has them as the top voice; other scale degrees are harmonized with descending thirds along the scale. voices making a tritone with the melody are corrected by a scale step. notes outside the scale and the base shape are harmonized as a chromatic alteration of the nearest in-scale chord, optionally transposed.

transpose whole chord
on: out-of-scale and out-of-chord notes make the whole chord transpose. off: only the melody note is altered, rest of the chord stays as harmonized for the nearest in-scale note.
